VW California Systems to be activated on your Cali
VW California Systems to be activated
This is a VW list about Systems that are already on the California
but they need to be turned on via the VAS Computer which only the
dealer has, some of these systems may already be already turned on.
It’s up to the Dealer on pre-delivery inspection just which
configuration is chosen and activated.
You can request which ones you want and they will do a set-up
as per your request but that’s difficult if you don’t know just
what’s available, so here is the list---
1. One click to unlock driver's door, two to unlock all
2. One click to lock, two to dead lock
3. Flash lights when lock
4. Chirp horn when lock
5. Windows up/down with remote
6. Auto lock with interval (say 15mph)
7. "Coming home" light function
8. Passenger mirror tilt with reverse ( this depends on equip level)
9. Chime when seat belt not engaged or roof warning
10. Various warning chimes for Doors Brakes, ESP, Coolant. TC.
So these are all factory configured to a "default" setting but can be
reconfigured with the VAS Computer, Just ask your Dealer.
I have also put a copy of this on the VW California Facebook forum

Re: VW California Systems to be activated on your Cali
I wish I had know about this when I picked up my 07 plate. After a year I had the door locks operate when pulling away, I was unaware of these options. My VW dealer was very helpful when I asked about it and made the changes a no cost. I am sure our other readers with be very greatful Cliff. Thanks on their behalf. Hope to see your van soon..

Good Question Martin,I am not sure, If itwas a part of I certainly didn't have it activated on my 07 Cali, however I have tried it on my new one and it's a nice facility to have. Cliff

Re: VW California Systems to be activated on your Cali
Hi Cliff
Read my manual and it only talks about closing windows by inserting the actual key in the door lock and holding the key in the lock postion until the windows close. I tried holding the remote lock button down but the windows did not close. How do you do it with your remote?
