Hi,
First post!
I have seen a nice auto 2.5 California 174 for sale with 12500 miles and the ability to take a fifth seat(important for me).
But it is 34k. Is that not somewhere between £2k to 5k too much?
Or is it it worth the dosh?
For what I am learning, getting a van with the three rails for a fifth seat is rare to find?

It's a hard call really, like you said they are hard to find and I suppose it's worth what someone is willing to pay for it. These vans hold their value. Not what you were hoping to hear I'm sure :-(

Cali prices Empty Parkers Guide

Post by danny13 Sun May 06, 2012 9:39 pm

How much faith should one put on Parkers guide? I have normally found this to be relatively accurate, however looking at it for Cali's there are big differences in the private used sales.

Take the 2009 California SE 130 30,000 miles ad currently advertised for £32k on this site.....Parkers price £24.5k.....thats over £7000 difference

Surely Parkers guide can't be that far wrong?

Hi Danny
It's a good point, parkers are usually pretty good except for specialist vehicles made in low volume, ( take an M3 BMW or a Land Rover Defender 50th it's just the same) Glasses guide is exactly the same they are there only as a guide although they both bere no relation whatsoever to the prices that are being obtained for those vehicles mentioned, for instance we sold our 07 174 last year for £32.500 with five people enquiring and two with cash in hand wanting it. We have just bought a new one for £47,000 so to buy new you need good residuels on yours. what Parkers base their prices on have no bearing on reality for a vehicle that is so sought after and thin on the ground, to find any Cali under £30,000 would be unusual as it would need to be an 06 era, resale prices are bullish and still very strong with the Summer with us soon that situation will hold that way.I can understand that you may think that you are paying more than you should but be assured the residual values of the T5 california are amongst the best of any vehicle ever made
