Leaking roof

This is my first post. I have just bought a nine-month-old California from a VW van centre. When I first saw the vehicle I noticed stain marks and damp inside the left and right front edges of the raised roof. No problems, the dealer renewed the canvas section, top upholstery and fitted a new seal under warranty. I was told the rubber seal was the problem, allowing water to come in. Two days after delivery I was driving in heavy rain and felt a drip on my face. When I stopped I eased back the sliding roof cover to be met by a face full of water. The top of the roof upholstery and canvas on the leading edge were wet through and it was obvious water was still entering in the same place. I'm taking the van back to VW tomorrow to see what can be done. Has anybody had the same problem?
