Newbie to the cali lifestyle
Hello,
I will be come an official cali owner next month, complete newbie to the campervan game, spent many years under tent canvas.
I have a few questions which hopefully someone can guide me in the right direction.
Does anyone know of a good boot cover.Im looking at something you get for your normal car,a boot liner with sides,I have two rotties who will be sharing many days with me,but i need something waterproof for them to sit in as they love the water!I can find them for normal cars but not the cali.
Next one, does anyone use a cooker/grill in there cali,if so what would you recommend.Lastly, snow chains had many emails from snow chain companies but no one has said a specific model. It will be used in the snow, need a good solid pair.
Thanks in advance looking forward to the new lifestyle.

Re: Newbie to the cali lifestyle
Hello Cali 1 - good luck with your new purchase . . . .
Various covers, liners etc. may be available from Brandrup - not quite sure how to obtain there stuff now, used to be available via VW Van Centres. Brandrup stuff is often Cali specific, good quality but pricey - worth it if it what you want. We have covered our rear shelf with just a standard tarp from an outdoor shop, held tight round the shelf by cable ties - works fine. The side on the left (where the cupboards and gas cyclinder etc is) is made of stuff that is easily wiped clean.

Re: Newbie to the cali lifestyle
I think many people advise getting one or two trips in before deciding what you finally want - perhaps using cheap tarps to keep things clean from the dogs from the meantime. People use the storage facilities in all sorts of different ways, and it's important to work out what is right for you.
Good luck.
